Since having bought my model 3, I've always been looking for solutions to reduce the interior cabin noise. I've tried everything from rubber seals on the roof glass and around the door frames, to floor and trunk mats, and they have made a small difference, but I am always looking for more.

The first year of model 3 runs did not appear to have any kind of covering on the top of the trunk and I believe this also contributes to some vibrational noises.

I was glad to a purchase this top trunk cover, which appears to be made of the same material as the rest of the sound deadening materials around the car.

After installing it, I was able to drive to work, using the same roads I normally do, and I did notice that there was a slight difference, definitely worth the price as I'm always looking to make the car quieter. I wouldn't say that it made a huge difference, but just enough to be noticeable. I think with all the other sound deadening solutions I put together, the car is probably at least 5 to 6 decibels quieter overall.

If you have a similar quest to make your model 3 quieter, with aftermarket additions, this is something I recommend that you look into getting.

Hopefully this will make the cabin or at least back seat a lot quieter. So far the quality is oem and has a nice look to it. Will report back after install

I wanted to get a product that covers the bare metal in my Tesla model 3 trunk. so I ordered this product in hopes that my car will not only look better, but will have a little bit of sound dampening in the trunk as well. installation was pretty easy, with a six different screws and some sticky tape for proper placement.
after at the install, I'm really pleased and how it looks, pretty much matching the OEM material. The sound dampening adds a more isolated, box feeling to the cabin.
overall, I highly recommend this product if you are looking to beautify your trunk and get some sound protection as well!

I want to cover the metal part of the trunk of my Model3 so I try this product.
It is very easy to install even though the parts come without instructions. The adhesive will stick better if you use the promoters that come with the installation package.

Here are some noise measurements before and after Installing the kit.

Note that I use Decibel X app on my iphone11 pro to record the cabin noise. I have multiple measurements while the car is in AutoPilot. My car is the 2020 Model3 Long Range AWD with FSD package. When I did the measurements, I turned off music and all possible noise in the car.

Before installing the kit.
City road noise: average 62-64 dB, max 74-77 dB. The data were recorded during 10 mins travel in city between 40-45mph.

Freeway noise: average 66-70 dB, max 82-87 dB. The data were recorded during 15 mins travel on I80 at 75mph.

After installing the kit.

City road noise: average 60-61 dB, max 67-69 dB. The data were recorded during 10 mins travel in city between 40-45mph.

Freeway noise: average 65-66 dB, max 73-74 dB. The data were recorded during 15 mins travel on I80 at 75mph.

I can feel it is a little bit quieter than before. The data shows it is improving 5-10%.
This kit would definitely help my ride more comfortable, improve the look of my trunk and somehow keep the temperature better when in camping mode.

Welp. Here we go, first review on this product. I volunteer as tribute.

The Package: You get 2 pieces to install - a large piece that goes closer to the trunk opening and a small piece that goes on closer to the rear of the trunk. The big piece only has 2 holes for screws and some double sided tape. The small piece only has holes for screws and no double sided tape. Instructions came on a piece of paper with a youtube link. Simple.

Installation: I watched the video, but it’s super straightforward. You don’t need to drill anything or mess with the car. Everything comes in the kit. Install looks like the following: Assemble the screws. Line up the pieces in the trunk. Somehow finagle those screws into the holes and tighten. Done! Some parts of the double sided tape weren't that sticky, but the end just tucks in so it stays put fairly well. We'll see how long that holds. I’m 5’10”, so fairly average, and I basically had to just lie down in the trunk. A couple of my neighbors kinda snuck looks in my direction, and screwing it in probably took the most effort, but nothing I couldn’t power through.

Experience: I own a LR AWD in LA, so I got to try this across a few different city-type roads. Subwoofer still works great - product does not affect that at all even though it's in the trunk. What it does do is muffle some of the road sounds a little, by what feels like 10%. It’s almost unnoticeable, but I have received comments that it seems a little quieter. Would love to see if any other owners with better equipment can test the sound difference to know for sure. For the time being, it’s a relatively cheap product that covers the bare metal in the trunk and muffles some sound so I’m pretty happy with the product.

Some Quick Tips & Tricks:
* Wash the rear of your car before you try to install. Trust me, your clothes will thank me.
* Wear pants that don’t have rivets on the back if you don’t like scratches on your car.
* The Youtube video link for instructions has an upper case “I” in it, not a lowercase “L”.
* Bring a flashlight with you to install. I used my phone.
* Make sure the smaller piece that is closer to the back of the trunk is installed first BUT don’t screw in the part that overlaps with the big piece until you install the big piece that’s closer to the trunk opening. The small piece should go on top of the big piece before you screw it in if you don’t want a weird droop in the middle of the piece.
